The Power of Body Strength and Mindfulness: A Personal Journey

Writer: Kristel KongasKristel Kongas

Introduction

Strengthening the body and mind has been a lifelong pursuit for me—not just for personal well-being but also to enhance my role as a leader, mother, friend, and partner. My journey in fitness, life coaching, and spiritual exploration has allowed me to develop a holistic approach to self-improvement.

My Background in Fitness and Life Coaching

A few years ago, I became a certified fitness coach through Intensive PT, which gave me the foundational knowledge to train my body effectively. Today, I am also a lecturer at Intensive PT, where I educate and mentor new coaches, helping them develop the skills needed to guide others on their fitness journeys.

However, I soon realized that true strength extends beyond physical endurance—it involves the mind, emotions, and spirit. To develop a deeper understanding of personal growth and connection, I pursued life coaching studies. My goal was to become a better version of myself—a more present leader, an empathetic friend, and a supportive partner. Learning to listen actively and offer guidance transformed my approach to leadership and relationships.

Additionally, I serve as a mentor, helping individuals grow personally and professionally. You can find me at MentorHub, where I share my knowledge and experience with those seeking guidance and development.

The Mind-Body Connection: Seeking Wholeness

Physical training has always been a core part of my daily routine, but I sought more than just strength and endurance. The idea of wholeness—a balance of the body, mind, and spirit—led me to explore deeper forms of mindfulness and self-discovery.

This journey took me to Mindvalley University, a transformative learning in a university-style setting alongside 1,000+ tribe from around the globe, where I spent two weeks immersed in personal development and transformational learning. Mindvalley exposed me to various tools for self-improvement, mindfulness practices, and innovative coaching techniques that reshaped my approach to life.

Spiritual Exploration: Method Raie

Beyond physical and mental training, I wanted to understand the spiritual side of myself. For a year, I studied under the Method Raie Master Class at Method Raie, diving into energy work, emotional awareness, and self-connection. These experiences allowed me to integrate mindfulness into my daily practices, strengthening my ability to lead with clarity and purpose.

Expanding My Skillset

Recently, I explored something new—tactical shooting. This experience pushed me beyond my comfort zone and introduced a new skill that complements my existing strengths. Tactical shooting requires focus, precision, and the ability to remain calm under pressure—all of which align with the mental discipline I cultivate through mindfulness and fitness training. I thoroughly enjoyed this new challenge and see it as a valuable addition to my personal development.

Key Lessons on Strengthening the Body and Mind

1. Strength Training Is More Than Just Muscles

Many people see fitness as a purely physical endeavor, but training the body also strengthens discipline, resilience, and self-confidence. Regular physical exercise supports mental clarity, emotional stability, and overall well-being.

2. Mindfulness Enhances Performance

Mindfulness isn’t just about meditation; it’s about being fully present in every action—whether lifting weights, leading a team, or having a deep conversation. Techniques such as breath control, visualization, and gratitude improve focus and performance in both fitness and life.

3. Emotional Awareness Builds True Strength

Emotional resilience is just as important as physical endurance. Studying life coaching and spiritual practices taught me how to manage emotions effectively, making me a stronger leader and a more compassionate person.

4. Lifelong Learning Is Key to Growth

Whether through professional development, fitness education, or spiritual exploration, growth is a continuous process. Attending Mindvalley University and Method Raie has shown me that the journey to self-mastery never truly ends.

Final Thoughts

Balancing physical strength and mindfulness has given me the tools to live a more fulfilled, intentional life. As an entrepreneur, marketing leader, mentor, and fitness coach, I integrate these lessons into my daily routines to show up as my best self. My journey is ongoing, and I encourage anyone looking for deeper self-awareness and physical empowerment to explore these paths.

The journey to wholeness begins with a single step. Take it.
